about

This originally appeared the "Bareback on a Pale Hores" split EP with True Gritt. I wrote these lyrics in my head to a Misfits-esque melody when I was 16. Back then, in the mid 90s, the pork industry ran a big campaign rebranding swine as, "Pork: The Other White Meat." So there's that. I finally put a chord progression to it, but it was kind of rushed, and the end product is pretty rough. The True Gritt dudes did the chorus gang vocals, but there was no external speaker, so I had to listen on ear buds and signal them when it was time to bellow out, "Human The Other White Meat!" It's a stupid little thing, but I'd like to go back and do something with it.

lyrics

I got my brain sucked by a flesh-eating monster / Hey, man, it was anything but pleasant – oh / Hollow fangs piercing through my head / Bastard tried to kill me, but he left me brain dead – oh /

This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human: the other white meat).

Move over, calamari / There’s a new delicacy in town – oh / All the upstanding monsters know / Human’s the only way to go – oh / Scrambled brains in the frying pan / Pickled toes straight outta’ the can – oh / And for the healthy mom with little ghouls to feed / Some are low-fat and calorie-free – oh /

This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human: the other white meat).

There’s some monsters from the fifth dimension who think we’re kinda’ greasy / I know a breed of Cyclops who only eat Canadians / But for a slew of monster wives dinner’s now made easy / Because of us.

This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human, the other white meat).
