I got my brain sucked by a flesh-eating monster / Hey, man, it was anything but pleasant – oh / Hollow fangs piercing through my head / Bastard tried to kill me, but he left me brain dead – oh / This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human: the other white meat). Move over, calamari / There’s a new delicacy in town – oh / All the upstanding monsters know / Human’s the only way to go – oh / Scrambled brains in the frying pan / Pickled toes straight outta’ the can – oh / And for the healthy mom with little ghouls to feed / Some are low-fat and calorie-free – oh / This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human: the other white meat). There’s some monsters from the fifth dimension who think we’re kinda’ greasy / I know a breed of Cyclops who only eat Canadians / But for a slew of monster wives dinner’s now made easy / Because of us. This puts a new meaning on brain food (Human, the other white meat).

about

Waysiders is a collection of odds-and-ends that just fell through the cracks. Like it says in the title, these "Demos, Drunk Takes, and Live Cuts" span a time period from 2006 to 2013 or '14. in 2006 I'd just begun focusing solely on these style of tunes, and some of these early takes are in the infancy of my attempts at finger picking (and also the beginning of me trying to do more with my voice than just yell over distorted electric guitars--though I still love doing that). I remember my philosophy on these 2008 recording at Andy's house was, "I'm just gonna' get a big ol' buzz on, hit record and see what happens." Some of these tunes were originally intended for splits, but things just didn't materialize; and some appeared on the short-run split I did with True Gritt back in 2008 or '09. I'm sure to mess up some of these dates and credits, so I apologize in advance. And above all I hope YOU get at least something out of this. I've certainly enjoyed going through this stuff; it brought back a LOT of great memories. And I found that some of these tracks are pretty tight. And then some are fairly loose. Then some are just down-right sloppy. And for better or worse I've decided not to go chronologically. Biggest of thanks to Mitch J. Vanhoose, Daniel Cox, Adam Faucett, Andy Warr, Rick Wood, Forrest Hittle, Karmichael Jones, Braden Franklin, and Tom Wiley
